Ashley Pickett, IBCLC has a talent for helping families find practical solutions in the Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga and Toronto area. She assists parents in finding ways to meet a baby`s authentic sleep, feeding and parenting needs while still finding ways for the grown-ups to feel rested, find gratitude in the journey and to avoid feelings of overwhelm.

She has extensive cross-training in the fields of infant feeding, attachment-focused parenting, parenting and birth, infant mental health, and developmentally normal infant sleep.

Her main gig is working as an IBCLC (lactation consultant), which started in 2008 after her own breastfeeding journey with three kids. She had many challenges, and it was only the help she found at the Newman Clinic in Toronto that helped her nurse for many years! When her youngest was just 4 months old, she became a student at the International Breastfeeding Center, and is privileged to have more than 10 years of direct mentorship with Dr Jack Newman. She now works at the world renown Breastfeeding Clinic, the International Breastfeeding Center (IBC) in Toronto.

Ashley has worked with some of the toughest and most intricate feeding cases imaginable. Her background in attachment-focused family support allows her to help parents find their very best outcomes with their childrenès connected needs (sleep, feeding and behavior) in a way that honors their infant`s needs and the needs of the whole family.

Ashley has also had the chance to fine-tune her learning by sharing it as a mentor to up and coming IBCLC's and now, Breastfeeding Educators through her own co-created certification course through Bebo Mia.

Ashley`s services are offered locally with her community, at Abaton Integrative Medicine, as well as globally. Ashley is especially skilled at supporting oral anatomy concerns such as tongue and lip tie with an integrative approach to care, and helping families navigating diabetic pregnancies and breastfeeding experiences.

Aside from feeding support, Ashley loves to support families through parenting the spectrum. She is well equipped to help strategize around sleep, siblings, attachment and connected parenting, hitting, biting, introducing solid foods, expecting siblings, new transitions such as babysitters, daycare and starting school, potty training, tantrums, food battles, and more!

Continuing her education and updating skill sets is so important, which has led Ashley to attend multiple conferences and workshops each year,. She has specifically certified in many areas. Her current Certifications and Trainings include:

The more hours Ashley spent with families, the more she realized that to do her job exceptionally well she needed to expand her knowledge base! Ashley has spent hundreds of hours at conference and at trainings to learn more about all things pregnancy, birth and parenting! She found that she couldn't fully support one aspect of parenting without learning as much as possible about others. Everything is intermingled, and Ashley's unique cross-training has allowed her a unique viewpoint. She is able to see the whole picture and come up with targeted plans for families to experiment with. This makes her a one-stop-shop for all things babies!

She has also had the amazing and rewarding opportunity to mother three unique, caring and empathetic children and finds gratitude in helping others the way her own parenting mentors supported her.

Whether you need help through feeding, sleep, babywearing or parent coaching from preconception through to grade school, Ashley Pickett has the expertise and experience to jump in and help! Although she doesn't have a magic wand, she does have the desire to help you feel confident, supported and the authentic owner of your experience!
